Grind Goes Green: The Grind Matcha Range Has Arrived

You asked, we delivered. You can now recreate your favourite café order in your kitchen with our new premium, ceremonial-grade matcha range. You're welcome.

Did Someone Say GRIND MATCHA?!?

That's right. We may be pink, but we've always been big on green energy.

We've been mastering matcha in our cafés and coffee shops for years. Our new range is designed for making that same delicious, authentic matcha at home, or skipping that altogether and getting your favourite café order in a ready-to-drink can

Made using the highest-grade of green tea from Japan, our ceremonial-grade matcha is shade-grown, hand-picked, and stone-ground to bring you a smooth taste, bright flavour, and full body. It also somehow tastes even better when you're wearing our matcha baseball cap. We don't know why.

What Is Matcha?

Matcha is a type of green tea made by stone-milling green tea leaves into a fine powder. These leaves are typically grown in the shade, which increases their chlorophyll and L-theanine content. This results in a richer flavour and higher number of antioxidants.

Rather than steeping the leaves in hot water like you would other teas, these leaves are powdered to preserve the rich nutrient content and flavour profile.

Matcha is full of antioxidants and has ⅓ of the caffeine in coffee. Its chemical composition means you don't get that caffeine crash or jitters. Instead, you get a sustainable boost of energy.

There are centuries of tradition and rituals centred on matcha. Its production requires artistry and skill.

Grind Iced Oat Matcha Latte

Back in June 2024, our first Iced Matcha Latte sold out in under six hours. Made in collaboration with American rock band Green Day and their recently launched coffee company Punk Bunny Roasters, it was a huge hit.

We didn’t appreciate how rock-and-roll matcha really is, but following this success and demand for a plant-based alternative, we’ve now combined our matcha with creamy oat drink in an Iced Oat Matcha Latte Can, so you can enjoy your favourite café at home or on-the-go.

Grind Matcha Tea Starter Set

Everything you need to make great matcha at home. This is the same kit we’ve been using in our coffee shops for years, so you can make authentic matcha from your kitchen.

The kit includes:

x1 Bamboo Matcha Whisk

x1 Ceramic Whisk Holder

x1 Bamboo Serving Spoon

x1 Ceramic Matcha Bowl

Grind Matcha Baseball Cap

Inspired by our bestselling ‘On a Coffee Run’ Baseball Cap, our new ‘On a Matcha Run’ Cap is the ultimate matcha accessory.

How to Use Grind Matcha Powder

To make great matcha at home:

  1. Mix ½ tsp (1g) with 15ml hot water until a smooth paste forms.
  2. Add another 70ml hot water and mix until consistent.
  3. From there, you can add more hot water, hot or cold milk, or pop it in your morning smoothie.

Top tip: Never use boiling water. It burns the matcha, giving it a bitter, sour taste.

What Is "Ceremonial-Grade" Matcha?

Ceremonial-grade matcha is the most premium form of matcha. It uses the finest, smallest shade-grown leaves, which is why it has such a vibrant green colour, a natural sweetness, and a smooth texture.
