How to use a V60 coffee dripper
A classic pour-over style coffee brewer, and one of the most well-known and widely used brewing methods available. The V60 by Hario is famed for its ability to create clean, balanced, high quality filter coffee. Perfect for those who enjoy the meditative routine of making a morning cup, this brewer is a go-to choice for anyone passionate about their coffee.
What you'll need
Nice to have
Pre-wet your filter paper and discard of the water. Measure out 16g of ground coffee and place into the brewer. If you don't have a weighing scale, you'll want roughly 1 flat scoop (using the V60 measuring spoon). Level off the coffee grounds by giving it a little shake.
Pre-wet/bloom the coffee by pouring a small amount of water (approx. 30g) over the grounds. Start your timer as soon as the water hits the coffee. Stir your coffee and let it pre-infuse for 30 seconds.
Pour 250g/250ml of hot water over the coffee grounds (approx. 3 quarters of the way up the brewer on a 2-cup V60). Make sure the water flow is slow, steady and covers all of the coffee.
Gently stir the water twice in a circular motion as it draws down through the coffee. Wait until all of the water has passed through into the cup below (around 3 mins).
