Pistachio Mocha Latte Recipe

We love chocolate. We love pistachio. And we really love coffee. So it's safe to say a pistachio mocha is a bit of a winner for us. It will be for you, too. 

This Pistachio Mocha Latte recipe makes a chocolatey, nutty, and creamy coffee that tastes great hot or iced. It's one of the best recipes for when you're craving something a little extra. 

Whether you're ready to curl up with a book on a slow Sunday morning or you need an afternoon pick-me-up, this drink is perfect. It's an incredible combination of flavours, from the milky sweetness of chocolate and the nutty sweetness of pistachio to the rich and bold flavours of our speciality coffee. It's indulgent without being overly sweet and can be easily made dairy-free or sugar-free. 

This recipe makes a pistachio mocha from scratch in simple steps, but if you're after something super quick and even easier, that's exactly what our flavoured coffee pods are for. Simply brew one Pistachio Coffee Pod, then one Mocha Coffee Pod, and combine with hot frothy milk or cold milk and ice, and you have yourself a Pistachio Mocha Latte that's ready in moments. 

Pistachio Mocha Latte Ingredients

Makes 1 serving. 

  • 1 x Grind coffee pod or 30ml espresso (or 60ml strong fresh-brewed coffee) using our whole bean/ground coffee
  • 180ml milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 30ml pistachio syrup (recipe below or store-bought)
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, crushed pistachios, chocolate drizzle

How to Make a Pistachio Mocha Latte

Our super simple instructions for making this delicious drink at home. 

Step 1

If using coffee pods: extract a shot of coffee from your coffee pod machine.

If using whole bean or ground coffee: brew your strong coffee with your favourite brewing method or extract a shot of espresso from your espresso machine

Step 2

Heat your milk using a Milk Frother or in a saucepan over a medium heat. 

Step 3

Whisk the pistachio syrup, cocoa powder, and sugar (if using) into the milk until well combined. 

Step 4

Pour the coffee into a mug, then add the pistachio-chocolate milk mixture and stir. 

Step 5

Top with whipped cream, crushed pistachios, and a drizzle of chocolate if you’re feeling fancy.

How to Make Homemade Pistachio Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 60g shelled pistachios, finely chopped
  • 240ml water
  • 200g sugar
  • ¼ tsp almond extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Combine pistachios, sugar, and water in a saucepan. 
  2. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Remove from heat, add almond extract and salt.
  4. Let cool, strain, and store in the fridge (keeps for up to 2 weeks).

Can I Make This an Iced Pistachio Mocha Latte? 

Absolutely. Just skip the milk heating step, combine the ingredients well and pour over ice.
