Peppermint Mocha Latte Recipe
Rich, creamy, chocolatey, this festive drink is best enjoyed with big blankets and cheesy Christmas films.
How to Make a Peppermint Mocha Latte
The perfect blend of refreshing mint, creamy chocolate, and rich coffee, this drink is the ideal cosy treat when you're feeling festive. Peppermint is such an amazing nostalgic Christmas flavour, taking us right back to childhood candy canes, so we like to enjoy our peppermint mochas snuggled under blankets, preferably with fluffy socks on, watching our favourite Christmas film.
This quick and simple recipe requires no fancy equipment and is super easy to customise based on your preferences: you can swap out dairy milk for your favourite plant-based alternative, sweeten to your taste, and choose your own toppings.
If you have a coffee pod machine, we'd strongly recommend you get your hands on our mocha coffee pods if you love a chocolatey coffee. If you don’t, we’d strongly recommend you check out our sleek and powerful Nespresso® compatible pod machine.

Peppermint Mocha Latte Recipe
- Prepare your coffee using your favourite brewing method. If you’re using whole bean or ground coffee, make sure it's fresh and high-quality so that you’re getting a great base for your peppermint mocha. If you’re stuck, Grind is a safe option—we roast our speciality whole bean and ground coffee every day in our London roastery and ship it to you while it's fresh and at its best. If using a coffee pod machine, brew two long shots of our compostable coffee pods.
- In a small saucepan, add the milk, cocoa powder, and sugar. Heat over a medium heat until small bubbles being to form around the edge and the sugar has dissolved.
- Stir in the coffee, mint extract or peppermint syrup, and vanilla extract. Remove from the heat.
- Serve in a large mug or tall heatproof glass and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, or any other toppings you’re into. Anything goes when it’s Christmas.
What Does a Peppermint Mocha Taste Like?
The combination of smooth, rich chocolate with cool, refreshing peppermint is a pretty unbeatable one, especially when combined with all the deep flavours of our speciality coffee. Think mint choc chip ice cream, but in a coffee. And way more festive. Inspired by one of everyone’s favourite holiday sweets, the candy cane, this recipe gives you a super creamy and silky peppermint mocha.
