Iced Honey Lavender Latte Recipe

Another bestseller from our summer drinks menu, our Iced Honey Lavender Latte is sweet, floral, and refreshing.

While a honey lavender latte sounds fancy and tastes fancy, it's actually super easy to prepare at home and you only need simple ingredients to make it.

This recipe blends the floral notes of lavender with the sweetness of honey and the rich flavours of our speciality coffee, creating a uniquely refreshing drink that you'll love. It's been so popular in our Grind cafés and coffee shops that we're going to show you how to make it at home, too.

Homemade lavender syrup is much easier than it sounds: you just need honey, water, and lavender. And if you're concerned about how lavender-y your latte will taste, you can tailor the amount you put into your syrup to suit your preferences.

While we make this lavender latte iced, you can enjoy it hot, too. You'll just need to heat your milk and you won't need the ice (obviously).

Honey Lavender Latte Ingredients

For the honey lavender simple syrup:

  • 60ml honey
  • 60ml water
  • 1 tsp food-grade dried lavender flowers

For the iced latte:

A step-by-step guide to making this floral, sweet, and refreshing honey lavender latte at home.

Step 1

Combine the honey, water, dried lavender flowers in a small saucepan and place over a medium-high heat until slowly simmering.

Step 2

Once the honey has dissolved (this should take about a minute), remove from the heat and let the mixture sit for 30-60 minutes to allow the lavender to fully infuse.

Step 3

Strain the syrup into a jar using a fine mesh strainer.

Step 4

Fill a glass with ice and add 85ml coffee.

If using a coffee pod machine: Extract a double shot of coffee using two of our Nespresso® compatible compostable coffee pods. We recommend using our House Blend or our Editions Light Blend for this recipe for a coffee that complements the flavours of your honey lavender syrup.

If using whole bean and ground coffee: Brew 18g ground coffee using your favourite brewing method to make 85ml strong coffee. We recommend using our House Blend for this recipe.

If using cold brew coffee concentrate:  Pour 60ml cold brew concentrate directly into your glass and top with 25ml water.

Step 5

Add 2-3 teaspoons of your honey lavender simple syrup to your coffee at give it a stir.

Step 6

Pour 200ml, or to taste, of cold milk (we love using oat milk for this latte), give it another quick stir, and enjoy.

Can I Make This Honey Lavender Latte Hot?

Yes, very easily. You can make this a hot honey lavender latte by using a milk frother to heat and froth the milk and bypassing the ice.

How Long Will My Homemade Honey Lavender Syrup Last?

This lavender syrup will make enough for around six lattes. Store the extra syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

How Many Calories in a Honey Lavender Latte?

This recipe contains around 160 calories, but this will vary depending on which milk you use and how much of it you put in your drink. For a lower calorie option, try semi-skimmed milk or almond milk.
