Honey Nut Latte Recipe

Everything you need to recreate one of our cafés' bestselling drinks at home.

Flavoured lattes have officially moved out of the coffee shop and into the home kitchen. From lavender to brown sugar, the appetite for something a teeny bit more interesting than a standard flat white has never been bigger, and the honey nut latte sits right at the centre of that moment: warm, indulgent, and feels like a treat without requiring any specialist skills or equipment to pull off.

This guide covers everything you need: the full ingredients list, a step-by-step method that takes under five minutes, a calorie breakdown, and a full flavour profile.

The hero ingredient throughout is Grind’s Honey Nut Coffee Pod, a speciality-grade coffee pod that delivers the honey and nut flavour combination in one easy step. No café setup or barista experience required.

What Is a Honey Nut Latte?

A honey nut latte is an espresso-based drink combining the warm bitterness of freshly brewed coffee with the sweet, lightly nutty flavour of honey and nuts. Serve hot or iced, with steamed or cold milk depending on your mood (and the weather).

What makes our special edition Honey Nut Coffee Pod so great is that it delivers the honey and nut flavour profile through the espresso itself, rather than requiring you to balance multiple syrups and ingredients separately.

Brew the pod, add milk, done. The flavour is already there, built in, balanced, and ready to go.

Honey Nut Latte Ingredients

Five ingredients, one seriously delicious latte. Here's what you need:

Espresso

The foundation of the drink, and the element that does the most heavy lifting. Use a shot brewed from a Grind Honey Nut Coffee Pod. If you like it a little stronger, you can use two Honey Nut pods or an extra House Blend coffee pod

Milk

The default choice is whole milk. It gives the richest, creamiest result and complements the honey nut flavour beautifully. That said, your choice of milk changes the character of the drink in interesting ways:

Whole milk: rich, creamy, classic. The most indulgent result.

Oat milk: naturally sweet with a fully body that works brilliantly alongside the honey notes. Our top plant-based recommendation.

Almond milk: lighter texture with a subtle nuttiness that amplifies the nut element of the pod. Worth trying if you want to lean into that side of the flavour.

Soy milk: smooth and neutral, a solid all-rounder that lets the pod flavour do the talking.

Honey

The pod already carries the honey flavour, so additional honey is entirely optional. But if you like things on the sweeter side, a small drizzle of good quality honey stirred into the espresso before adding milk takes the sweetness up a level in a way that feels natural rather than sugary. Start with half a teaspoon and adjust from there.

Ice (Iced Version)

For the iced version, fill your glass generously with ice. Right to the top. To avoid diluting the honey nut flavour as the ice melts, you could freeze brewed espresso into ice cubes the night before and use those instead of regular ice. Cold brew coffee ice cubes work brilliantly here too.

Optional Extras

A light dusting of cinnamon on top adds warmth and a subtle spice that plays beautifully against the honey. A small pour of hazelnut or almond syrup amplifies the nutty element if you want to lean further in that direction. A few drops of vanilla extract add depth and round out the sweetness. Or pop a scattering of finely chopped toasted nuts on top if you're feeling particularly committed to the drink.

Honey Nut Latte Recipe (Step by Step)

This takes under five minutes from start to finish, requires no barista skills whatsoever, and produces something genuinely café-quality. Here's how to make a honey nut latte at home.

You'll need:

• 1 Grind Honey Nut Coffee Pod

• 200ml milk of your choice

• Optional: ice, honey, cinnamon, hazelnut or almond syrup

• A tall glass or mug, and a milk frother

Step 1: Brew Your Espresso

Place your Grind Honey Nut Coffee Pod into a Nespresso®-compatible machine and extract a short shot That's it. The machine does the work. The pod does the flavour. If you want a little extra strength, brew two pods.

If you're adding extra honey, stir it into the hot espresso now while it's still warm enough to dissolve it properly.

Step 2: Prepare Your Milk

For the hot version: Steam or froth your milk to around 65°C. Warm enough to be properly hot, not so hot that it scalds and loses its sweetness. Our Grind Milk Frother is ideal here: quick, easy, and produces a consistently smooth microfoam without any of the faff, at the press of a button.

For the iced version: No heating required. Pour 200ml of cold milk over your ice (or your coffee ice cubes if you've been sensible and made some) and you're ready to assemble.

Step 3: Assemble

Hot version: Pour your frothed milk into your mug first, then pour the honey nut espresso over the back of a spoon so it settles through the milk in a satisfying swirl before combining. Give it a gentle stir.

Iced version: Pour the cold milk over your ice, then add the honey nut coffee on top. Stir gently for about 10 seconds.

Step 4: Personalise and Serve

This is the fun part. A light dusting of cinnamon takes about three seconds and we think it's worth it.

A small handful of finely chopped toasted hazelnuts or almonds scattered on top adds texture and doubles down on the nut element.

A thin drizzle of honey across the foam–if you're going hot–is both delicious and very aesthetically pleasing.

Both the hot and iced versions work equally well year-round. The hot for slower mornings when you want something warming and indulgent, the iced for warmer days when you want the same flavour without the heat.

How Many Calories Are in a Honey Nut Latte?

A standard honey nut latte made with a Grind Honey Nut Coffee Pod, whole milk, and a little honey comes in at roughly 170 calories per serving. Most of those calories come from whole milk.

Lower calorie swaps:

• Switch whole milk for oat milk to bring the milk calories down to around 90 per 200ml.

• Use almond milk for the lightest result (around 30 calories per 200ml).

• Skip the additional honey and syrup entirely.

• Leave off the nut topping to save a further 20–30 calories without losing any of the core flavour.

Even at the higher end of the calorie range, this is a considerably lighter indulgence than most café flavoured lattes, which routinely tip past 250–300 calories once full-fat milk and generous syrup pours are factored in.

What Does a Honey Nut Latte Taste Like?

Warm, rounded, and gently indulgent. The espresso brings its natural richness and depth, which the honey sweetness softens without masking. The nut element adds a subtle, toasty warmth that makes the whole drink feel more complex and interesting than a standard flavoured latte.

It's sweet, but not in a cloying way: the bitterness of the Grind Honey Nut espresso keeps everything balanced, and the flavour lingers pleasantly rather than disappearing the moment you swallow. If you've tried Grind's Hazelnut Coffee Pod or Pistachio Coffee Pod, you'll recognise the nutty warmth. The Honey Nut takes that in a slightly sweeter, more rounded direction with the honey element adding a floral quality that the straight hazelnut doesn't have.

It's the kind of coffee that makes a genuinely ordinary Tuesday feel a little more considered. Which, if you ask us, is exactly what a proper flavoured latte should do.

Ready to Make Your Honey Nut Latte?

The honey nut latte is one of those drinks that tastes like considerably more effort than it actually is. Speciality-grade coffee from a Grind Honey Nut Pod, your milk of choice, and only a few minutes of your time. Hot or iced, with cinnamon or without, whole milk or oat, it works every way, every time.
