Introducing Clerkenwell Grind
Just hold on, we're coming home. This November, we're returning home to east London for the opening of our biggest and most ambitious project to date - Clerkenwell Grind. As some of you have already spotted, we've reclaimed another listed building on Old Street, and we're looking forward to showing the neighbourhood just how far we’ve come in the last five years with a new all-day restaurant, and a club-bar open late into the night.
Under construction at 2-4 Old Street, Clerkenwell Grind spans two floors of dusty pink velvets, two sweeping white and green marble bars, and a neon commissioned from Toronto tattoo-artist Curt Montgomery.
Upstairs, our biggest restaurant to date puts bold creative twists on the usual breakfast fare – our avocado spiced, and our salmon bright and beetroot-cured. At the weekend, things are little more decadent, with rich truffle hashes topped with a poached duck egg, and its French-toasted banana breads. For dinner at Clerkenwell Grind, we kick the charcoal oven into high gear, with miso-glazed lamb spare ribs, and red snapper, while the small plates boast Isle of Mull scallops served with samphire, aubergine and goats curt.
Once the night arrives, those looking for more can descend to the club-bar below, serving the Grind’s infamous Espresso Martinis and other cocktails until the very late night, all to a killer soundtrack spun by our friends and collaborators, as well as special guests from the Grind Studio. We'd daresay it's the biggest opening of the year for east London nightlife.
